Canada Post Corporation Winnipeg Mail Processing Plant - THIS TOUR IS FULL

Canada Post's new state-of the-art mail-processing plant in Winnipeg is the company's flagship facility and the first plant to be fully modernized in the national network. The plant processes 1,000,000 pieces of mail per day ranging from business envelopes to publications to large parcels. 350 employees work in the 280,000 sq.ft. mail sorting plant. On this tour, you will see how new generation mail-processing equipment and ergonomically designed carts and containers provide straight-through linear flow for each product family, how automated dashboards, camera systems, and Human-Machine Interface displays enable operators to monitor key equipment performance in real time and how Standard Operating Procedures are used throughout the plant to standardize work stations.

MacDon Industries Ltd. - THIS TOUR IS FULL

MacDon Industries Ltd. is a family owned, Canadian based manufacturer of harvesting equipment, specializing in the production of pull-type and self-propelled windrowers and specialty and pick-up headers for combines for world markets. Our disc, auger and draper products are commonly used to harvest a wide variety of cereal grains, oilseeds, grass seeds, rice, soybeans, hay, forage and specialty crops such as peas, lupins and lentils. On this tour, you will see a factory in transition towards LEAN operations. An expansion was added near the end of 2011 and a number of assembly lines relocated into this new space. These lines have been balanced to flow, have efficiently designed workstations and kanban-replenished inventories.

Royal Canadian Mint - THIS TOUR IS FULL

Opened in 1908, the Royal Canadian Mint is a for-profit Crown Corporation with a mandate to produce circulation and non-circulation coins for Canada and other countries, manage the domestic coinage system and provide advice to the Minister of Finance on all matters related to coinage. It also extends to the production and marketing of bullion and related refinery products and services for profit. Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. - THIS TOUR IS FULL

Boeing Winnipeg, one of the largest aerospace composite manufacturers in Canada, celebrated 40 years of composites excellence in 2011. Boeing Winnipeg opened with 57 employees in 1971 in a $3.5 million plant at 99 Murray Park Road. The company now employs over 1400 people at three locations locally and is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company. Boeing Winnipeg produces nearly 1,000 end item composite parts and assemblies for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, specifically for the 737, 747, 767, 777 and 787 airplane models and is a Tier I partner to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner program. On this tour, you will see the 787-9 Pylon moving line and the 777 Fwd Chaku cell and 747-8 moving line.
