The 2017 SAFE Work Awards nominations are now open!

Published by CME Manitoba on May 05, 2017

SAFE Work Manitoba will be awarding an individual worker, a workplace safety and health committee, and a workplace for their outstanding safety and health practices at the fifth annual SAFE Work Awards this fall.

The SAFE Work Awards are given in three categories: Worker SAFEty, SAFEty and Health Committee, and SAFEty Culture. Please consider nominating a co-worker, your safety and health committee, or your workplace to recognize the great work they do to keep everyone safe on the job.

"We would like Manitobans to look around their workplaces and think about who they could nominate. Do they have a co-worker who goes above and beyond to keep their colleagues safe? A safety and health committee that makes safety a team effort? Or a workplace that puts safety first in all they do?" says Jamie Hall, Chief Operating Officer of SAFE Work Manitoba. "Tell us how they spot the hazard, assess the risk, and find a safer way, every day."

At safemanitoba.com/safeworkawards, you can easily submit a nomination using the online form, read about past winners, and see the awards criteria.

The deadline to submit nominations is June 16, 2017. Winners will be notified in August 2017, and for the first time ever, the SAFE Work Awards will be celebrated at a gala banquet with the North American Occupational Safety and Health Awards on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. More information to come soon on this new event!
