2016/17 CME Manitoba AGM Recap
Published by CME Manitoba on May 05, 2017
On April 26, 2017 Manitoba held our annual general meeting.
At CME, we strive to ensure that the needs of manufacturers are addressed through a range of resources. Along with a review of the highlights of the past 12 months outlined in our 2016/17 annual report, we outlined our priorities for 2017/2018 in key areas of support for manufacturing; including LEAN and productivity, leadership & executive support, advanced manufacturing & innovation, human resources & skills development (including future workforce initiatives), trade & business development and safety. Our team also unveiled a new, one-minute promotional video highlighting our mission statement and value proposition – helping manufacturers grow.
In the coming months, members can also look forward to our enhanced advocacy efforts with a focus on key topics like carbon tax, red tape reduction and NAFTA. We will continue to work with our partners in government and the private sector to ensure that the manufacturing business environment is competitive, allowing Manitoba manufacturers to be successful – at home and on a global stage.
A special thank you to this morning’s speakers The Honourable Cliff Cullen, Minister of Growth, Enterprise and Trade; George Groumoutis, Sky Blue Water and Neil Krovats, Clearline Technologies.
