Greg joined the CME Manitoba Team in 2016 as the facilitator for the Southern Manitoba Manufacturers' Executive Council (MEC).
Born and raised in his early years in rural Nova Scotia, Greg graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Acadia University and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Technical University of Nova Scotia.
For over 35 years Greg has lived and worked in Manufacturing in western Canada. Greg worked for Procter & Gamble and Weyerhaeuser in Alberta for 18 years. He held manufacturing roles in Engineering, Maintenance and Production in the pulp mill and in Maintenance at P&G’s sawmill. Greg transferred to Weyerhaeuser’s Pulp and Paper facility at Prince Albert as Maintenance & Engineering Manager and later assumed the Pulp mill Manager role.
In southern Manitoba, Greg provided leadership for a flax processing business that used flax straw to make paper and developed new markets for the flax in North America and Europe. Greg also provided plant leadership for Decor Cabinet Company in Morden, Manitoba.
For four years, Greg served as the President of Schulte Industries, in Englefeld, Saskatchewan. Schulte manufactures and sells rock and snow removal equipment and large industrial grass cutters. Markets are both domestic and international with sales in the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia, South America, and South Africa.
In November 2016, Greg assumed the role of CEO of the Pembina Valley Water Coop. This not-for-profit utility provides drinking water to 14 municipalities in southern Manitoba and operates water treatment plants at Letellier, Morris and Stephenfield.
Greg currently serves on the Board of the Canadian Water and Wastewater Association and the Board of Red River Basin Commission. Greg is a former Board member of Canadian Manufactures & Exporters Saskatchewan Council, the Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada and the Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute.
Greg is a lifelong learner and obtained his MBA from Athabasca University in 2004. Greg is a strong supporter of individual growth and development as a means for business growth. Greg has a passion for mentoring and helping others grow and develop themselves and their businesses. Greg’s wide range of manufacturing experience, from hands-on in the plant to senior corporate leadership, make him a valuable resource to CME members.
The newest addition to CME , Cory joins our LEAN team in a Facilitator role.
Cory's journey to LEAN began as an Engineering summer student. Since graduating from the Mechanical Engineering program at the University of Manitoba, he has spent the last 12 years in various continuous improvement roles in the Transportation, Pharmaceutical, and Manufacturing industries. He has lead factory-wide layout and cellular LEAN re-designs, introduced and led 5S programs, performed LEAN assessments and facilitated many kaizen events.
In addition to a bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, Cory also received a minor in Anthropology, has a second Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics, and is a LEAN Black Belt. He has also managed a quality department for an custom metal Manufacturer and received training in Total Productive Maintenance.
Cory’s vision is to become a world-class Facilitator, Coach and Mentor by helping individuals within organizations identify waste within their total fulfilment streams, understand its root cause, and create strategic plans in order to create long-term mutual prosperity for our community, our organizations, and our people.
