The Hon. Navdeep Singh Bains
Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development
Mr. Bains will speak at the Manufacturing Innovation and Investment Social (Oct. 24, 5:00 PM-7:00 PM)
Prior to being elected in 2015, Mr. Bains was a distinguished visiting professor at Ryerson University’s Ted Rogers School of Management. He has worked several years in accounting and financial analysis for the Ford Motor Company of Canada. He previously served as the Member of Parliament for Mississauga–Brampton South from 2004 to 2011 and held Parliamentary Secretary roles in the Paul Martin government.
Mr. Bains is a strong proponent of the manufacturing sector. As Minister for Innovation, Science and Economic Development, he has been tasked by the Prime Minister to help Canadian businesses grow, innovate and export so that they can create good quality jobs and wealth for Canadians. Mr. Bains will provide an overview of the opportunities and challenges associated with encouraging growth in the manufacturing sector as part of his keynote address at CME's annual meeting.
